Minus one tooth

Mason lost his first tooth tonight when he and Ava were playing and his knee caught his mouth. He came running in the living room and yelling " Mommy my tooth fell out". I looked up at him and he had blood running down his chin. He said it did not hurt really. I think it was bleeding bunch because his knee hit his mouth. He was ecstatic. I can't believe he is already loosing teeth...WOW he is growing up!!!! Mason missing a tooth
If you notice (click on the picture to see closer) he already had his permant tooth coming in and was half way in already. It is further in the back of were the baby tooth was. Looks like braces might be in our future!!

Mason little tooth!

Last and Final Christmas gathering!!

Finally all of the Huckabee kids where able to get together for Christmas. You know that as we get older it gets so hard to get everyone together. It also worked out that the Saints were playing also...and might I had WON!!!!! The kids enjoyed opening there gifts from there aunts and uncles. I think the most excited award goes to Abby, she was so funny yelling as she was slowly opening her presents. thanks Taunty and Nunc for having us over!!! Abby got a REAL working vacuum cleaner from Taunty and Nunc!
Mason got a Discovery Tornado maker...which he loves!!!

Nanny Rae (that is me) got Abram a wagon filled with big Lego's!!!

Daddy opening his present...new athletic shorts and shirts!!!

Mommy got a Saints snuggie, but I already had one, so Heidi I am replacing it with a CUTE Saints, Fleur De Lis headband!!!!

Christmas at our home!

Christmas morning was definitely a success in our house. The kids were really thrilled about going to bed and waking to gifts! the whole day was spent lounging around the house and doing nothing!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! Mason was the first to wake up...at 6:30! He knew to wait to get into his presents until everyone was up. He was so cute though...point out and deciphering what he thought each present was and why. He picked out the sleeping bag because it was a cylindrical shape. He is just too smart for us!!!
Ava was the next to wake up...because Mason went and woke her up. She was beside herself when she got out of bed and saw everything in the living room. She could not believe that Santa really came...while she was sleeping.

Of course the last was Abby, who got woke by non other than Ava...who was so loud!! Abby was running and acting just like the other two. She was pretty excited too!!

This was probably Mason's favorite gift..Nintendo DSi. He really likes that you can take pictures with it and record your voice! He also got a acoustic guitar which he really loves too.

This was Ava's favorite...Microphone with stand. She has been singing and dancing every since we opened it. She also got a dollhouse which she has taken to quite well!

The kids about to open there stockings. the chair that Abby is sitting on it her favorite gift. She loves her chair!

I was very surprised to get a I Phone 4 and a Kuerig. Santa was pretty great to me this year!!

Josh was very pleased to open a gift that had tickets to the Saints vs. Tampa Bay game next Sunday.

All in all I would say that we were very blessed and had a wonderful Christmas.

Standing gaurd

Josh had one more gift to buy for me for Christmas and on Christmas Eve Mason, Ava, and himself went out to the stores to get it. Josh knew that he had to put the fear of God into Ava to keep a secret. So when they got home it turned into a game of keeping the secret from Mommy. I tryed to go shake the present under the tree and this is what I found Ava and Josh standing guard with empty Christmas wrapping paper rolls...all so that Mommy could not touch the present.

traditions at Gamma and Huck's

Every year since Josh was a little boy, Santa left notes on the tree and you had to go around the house to find your gift. Well, now for the grandkids...it is not Santa but the Christmas Angel that leaves the notes. The kids eat this up. They love searching for there gifts around the house. All of the white paper on the tree are notes with each person's name
Ava reading her note to tell her where to look. She was so funny about reading her notes, she would open the paper and just start making stuff up like she was reading. It was quite cute and funny to watch!

A Southerland Christmas

WE had everyone except Mom and Dad at Aunt Candy's for Christmas this year. It is so hard to get everyone together, but it was really nice be with everyone!! The kids just have so much fun when they are all together and getting to play!! my cousin Adam and brother Mark E.
Halle (cousin), Ashley (niece), and Ava

Abby letting Uncle Mark E. help her open her present

Mason got Cuponk (a game involving a cup and a ping pong ball) for Christmas and was so surprised because he asked Santa for it.

Grandpa and his NEW toy

Playing in leaves!

There are always a yard full of leaves at Gamma's and Huck's house. It was such a nice day that Josh decided to get them outside to to play and this is what ended up happening. They played in the leaves and the backyard got cleared of leaves at once!!!

Even Abby got in on the fun!!

Fun at the Boardwalk

The kids enjoy going to the boardwalk when we go to Shreveport. i like it too, because I can shop!! Out first stop was the Carousel. Oh what fun it is to go round and round!!
We heard that Santa was making a stop one last time at the Bass Pro Shop, so headed there to check it out. The kids got to race cars on a track and run toy train and shoot toy bow and arrows.

Ava found this and hopped right on. She told me she wanted one for Christmas!!!! Do you see the price?!?!?

Of course we had to ride the trolley, which was out of service until we walked past it and up go the doors and out comes the trolley. So we took a ride....which is there favorite part!!

Baking with Gamma

We went to Shreveport this past week to visit family and we stayed at Gamma and Huck's house. Gamma always like to bake with the kids and they absolutely love it. The made chocolate covered pretzels!
Ava carefully putting the sprinkles on!

The finished product..now time to eat them!!!

Ava's Christmas Program

This has been a busy week, not only did we have the Nutcracker performance but Ava also had her school Christmas program that she sung in. She did a great job and really looked like she enjoyed herself! She has been singing these songs at home constantly. i just love that she has so much energy!!! Ava during her Christmas party at school
The theme for the program was "Twas the Night Before Christmas...", so Ava was dressed in her p.J.'s!

On her way to the stage!

Here is clip of Ava during the program!

Our Little Ballerina

Ava showing off her little nutcracker ornament that she got from her teacher.
She does not look happy in this picture because right before her bracelets that Mommy and Daddy gave her for a good job gift fell and broke!!

We had no idea that Taunty was going to come...she had just got off of a 30 hour shift at the hospital!! Thanks Taunty...we love you!!

Me and my Ballerina!!!

Ballerina in the Making!!!

Ava performed in her first ballet performance called "The Littlest Nutcracker". She was (in my opinion) the cutest and best ballerina there. She did so good as you can see from the video. She was the one with the BIG arms and was doing exactly what she was suppose to do. If you notice at the end of her performance she fell down from to much twirling. Thank you so much for Aunt Heidi and Taunty and Abram for coming out to see Ava perform!!!!

Christmas in DeRidder

We celebrated Chirstmas with family this past weekend at Josh's Grandma's in DeRidder. We had most of the family there with the exception off a few. This is pretty good, because it is really hard for this family to get together at the same time!! The kids had a good time playing with cousins and aunts and uncles! Ava decided that she was hot in the car ride so she took it upon herself to take her shirt off then she wanted a blanket...next thing we knew she was asleep with the blanket on her head!!
Grandma Pitre and the Huckabee Great Grands and the Ropollo
Grands. Are usual pic at Grandma Pitres! This has become a tradition!!

The kids opening presents!

These are our normal sleeping arrangements at Grandma's but this year it was little more cramped. There were 6 air mattresses and one pull out bed all in the living room. It is a good thing we all love each other. We were also missing the Fruge family and Brittney!!!!
